There is a certain ironic satisfaction in the final realization that all which we most feared has indeed come to pass: The inmates are now running the asylum. We’ve had a growing discomfort about the sanity, never mind the moral integrity, of those who control our national security; but now the truth is undeniable – they’re all nuts!

We’ve been lulled to sleep at 6 & 11 each night by the frantic discussions of the talking heads of TV-Land about orange versus yellow alerts, and the dire need for yet another form of technology to record and track every citizen in his day to day activities. (This latter obsession with security, contrasts most curiously with actual cases in which our immigration officials have refused to take any legal action against apprehended illegal aliens.) One can’t help wondering exactly who they regard as “the real enemy”.

If one were to examine the security check-out procedures at one’s local airport, one would indeed come away confused. Even though there are no records of any children or little old lady terrorists, they still seem to elicit an undue amount of attention – particularly when compared to that shown to 20-30 year-old men of middle-eastern extraction, who comprise more than 95% of all know “terrorists”.

One can’t help wondering if they’re really trying to solve a problem, or if all of the confusion is merely an excuse to implement the social controls they’ve been eagerly promoting for the last decade or two. Just as an example, they have decided that the best way to protect the rebuilt World Trade Center is to impose mandatory thumbprint and photo analysis of all who enter the area. Yet, even though they are rewriting history books as fast as the ink dries, one can’t help remembering that the two passenger jets that destroyed the original buildings never presented identification cards, nor were they asked to, as they entered the facilities. I also suspect that iris-scanning would have been out of the question, as well.

There is a fundamental social principle that has been conveniently forgotten: The evil, destructive elements of a society are not about to abide by any form of licensing or identification restrictions. They will simply do what they intend to do, regardless of existing laws. The only people who are “control-led” by such legislation are the vast majority of the law-abiding people who are not inclined to commit such crimes to begin with. Thus they are passing ever more legislation to control, restrict, and oppress those who are socially harmless, while they allow those who pose the real threat to proceed unhindered. Why do you suppose?

We can see the perfect illustration of this insane mindset in the proposed transfer of ownership of the former British shipping company Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company to DP World, a holding company that is wholly-owned by the government of Dubais, one of the United Arab Emirates. Our State Department, and various unnamed financial advisors, are lauding the praises of the UAE, and its status as an “ally against terrorism”.

Yet while placing their hope in the fact that the huge profits they will make will make them dutiful capitalists, eager to preserve their cash cows, they forget the truth of where the UAE’s allegiance really lies. Dubais is the money-laundering capital of the Arab world, playing host to Indian and Russian mobsters, Iranian arms dealers, and the banking system that was used to fund the 9-11 hijackers. They were the port of departure of several of the hijackers in their final journey to the United States. Yet despite this close association, and the fact that one of the pilots of the hijacked flights was a UAE citizen, their governmental and banking officials resisted all efforts by the CIA at tracking down the financial entanglements involved in the hijackings.

With all this in mind, why would our government insist on the right to strip-search little old ladies at our airports, while eagerly surrendering the right to control all container operations at six East Coast US Ports: NY, Newark, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Miami, and New Orleans? The company currently is responsible for the import/export handling of 3.7 million containers a year, each being half the size of a tractor trailer. All that someone need do, if he wanted to smuggle virtually anything into the US – (pick your favorite WMD) — would be to pick one of those huge boxes, piled in mountainous stacks onboard ship, or dockside, and make certain that key company officials paid special attention to handling the paperwork. All of the “Archie Bunker-type longshoremen” in the world aren’t likely to protect us from such insider manipulations. Whatever contraband they might send would then vanish into the labyrinth of the American freight transportation system.

Why strip-search the average citizen for a pair of nail clippers, when you’re willing to grant such an open and obvious means of access to the very agents of the people who have already vowed to destroy America, the “Great Satan”? Are they blind, or stupid, or just so totally given over to self-promotion that they would sell their own people over to their destruction to make a few bucks?

One commentator has speculated, quite convincingly, that our State Department contrived a deal with the UAE to swap them control over our container operations in exchange for US control over the tanker traffic through the critical Strait of Hormuz, from military bases within the UAE. This would become essential should we find ourselves in a military conflict with Iran, who could otherwise cut off all tanker traffic out of the Gulf.

It’s obvious, to the average man-in-the-street, (who isn’t preoccupied with the Academy Awards or the basketball and hockey playoffs), that something truly disastrous is about to happen. The signs are all around us; yet the nation is obsessed with pretending that everything is “normal”; and that our only concern involves a few radically misguided, religious fanatics. They walk around quoting from the Koran, assuring us that Islam, (which means “submis-sion”), is a religion of gentle, peace-loving people.

While there is no doubt that there are many Moslems who would never consider donning a vest of explosives and rusty nails to blow up women and children at the local shopping mall, we are truly naive if we ignore the past 1300 year history of Moslem conquest.

Our President, and liberal Christian leaders, should read a little more of what the Koran has to say before they glibly quote it as “coequal” to God’s Word. Maybe then they would come to realize what Mohammed has to say about them: “O you who believe! Do not take my enemy and your enemy for friends: would you offer to love them while they deny what has come to you of the truth, driving out the apostle and yourselves because you believe in Allah your lord?” (Surah 60:1) “Make war on them until idolatry does not exist any longer and Allah’s religion reigns universally.” (Surah 8:39) “Fighting is prescribed for you, though it be hateful to you.” (Surah 22:78) “When you meet the unbelievers (in battle) strike off their heads; then when you have made a wide slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives.” (Surah 47:4)

Isn’t it curious that whenever the “terrorists” capture someone, they chop off their heads – usually in front of a video camera? Did they just make that up? No, they are following the instructions of their religion about what to do to all who will not bow their knee to Allah and his mad prophet. (Before you get upset about that reference, check your history: When Mohammed first started hearing the “voices”, he was convinced he had gone mad, and was hearing demons. It was his wife who convinced him that he was hearing from God.)

But despite the obvious record of history, and the testimony of their prophet, there is a concerted blindness regarding all things Moslem. For example, there are at least two copies of the Koran posted on the Internet, complete with word search capability; yet quite curiously both of them have a “block” on the word “jihad”, even though they will readily pull up other Arabic terms. Why do you suppose? Is this just more of the stupidity of liberal pluralism? Or do they, at least subconsciously, realize the dire position the western world is in with its dealings with the Arab nations?

We don’t have to look very far back in time to see how much power the Arab oil-producing nations wield worldwide. 1975 was an eye-opener, which many have convinced themselves could never happen again. But the Muslim nations demonstrated, before the world’s eyes, just how much economic clout they could wield as they just briefly cut back, by a small percentage, on the amount of oil they would ship. The world almost strangled in its panic, as commercial strategies dissolved in the face of the more basic, survival need of getting a good position in the next gas line before they too ran out. Now whenever an OPEC member reaches to scratch himself, the world ducks in fear.

Our illustrious CFR-trained diplomatic corps has devised many strategies to appease those who control the world’s oil spigots. Unfortunately, these urban NY educated theoreticians, who cut their teeth on European court intrigue, have yet to fully realize that these men have been robbing and swindling one another, along with anyone else who happened along, for hundreds of years. Lying to an infidel – that’s us – is a necessary and excusable inconvenience to the Muslim eye, while western diplomats at least pretend to be promoting the truth.

On top of that, the western mind really doesn’t comprehend the all-encompassing impact that religion plays in the Muslim lifestyle. This is somewhat understandable. How do people, raised in a nation where an “active” church life consists of attending an hour-long service once a week, comprehend a people who will drop everything, five times a day, to recite prayers in an unknown language to a god of hate? Most of these liberal “scholars” have never even experienced the Americanized version of churchianity; yet they are proclaiming themselves “experts” on Middle East affairs. When one considers the blindness and naïveté with which our nation’s leaders are approaching this impending crisis, it’s enough to make one break out in cold sweats.

To the western mind, the goal of all the world’s people is to partake, as an insider, in the capitalist system, and to become a recipient of its overflowing largesse. So this has been the strategy behind our dealings with the oil-producers. In return for agreeing to let them play their games with prices, and to “nationalize” all of the US-built refinery equipment and pipelines, we got them to agree to use US dollars for all transactions, and to invest a major portion of their profits in US Treasury notes, thus financing our bankrupt economic system.

There was one major oil player who refused to go along with the plan, having envisioned himself as superior to these western Bozos. So he persisted in dealing with European currencies, and investing in Soviet military technology. While he was no more of a tyrant than the rest of the Arabic potentates, he was singled out for US invasion, so as to “liberate” his people and establish a “democracy”. (Interestingly, before people began rewriting history in New Speak, such a substitutionary government was referred to as a “puppet government”.)

Unfortunately, we are discovering that maybe Saddam wasn’t as inept at governing his people as we would like to believe. They’re still killing one another in the name of their god of hate, while the nation, as a whole, spirals quickly downward into anarchy and civil war. Meanwhile, even the most atrocious acts of Moslem against Moslem violence are blamed on the US.

The Iranians are now starting to flex their muscles as well, having pulled their oil moneys out of the European banking system, and having told the UN Nuclear regulators to go pound sand. One might logically expect that they will be the next nation to be singled out for “reedu-cation”. (Interestingly, they have set a deadline of March 23rd of this year to cease oil trafficking in US Dollars, as Iraq had done.)

However, along the way, the oil countries are discovering that they have an entirely new, and even more potent, weapon to wield, besides the shutoff valve on the oil pipeline. They are now major bond holders in our bankrupt national economy. What would happen if they suddenly, enmasse, decide to take their oil dollars elsewhere, and invest in such niceties as Chinese missile technology and North Korean nuclear warheads? — Not that they’re adverse to buying leftover Russian warheads on the Black Market, either. (Of course, not all of them are that militaristic. There are also some who are buying up all the gold and silver they can get their hands on.)

What do you suppose will happen to the value of all those Treasury Notes when there is no one left willing to risk buying them? And what do you suppose will happen to our debt-based financial system when the realization sinks in that we can never repay that debt? So now they have two different tools by which they can jerk us around, and leave us helpless: They control our oil, and hence our industry and daily means of travel and survival; and they also possess the key that can totally undermine our illusion of economic security. “Oh what a difficult choice: which one to use first!”

This might account for why we are suddenly seeing crowds of people marching through various cities, trashing the populous, burning churches, and killing those who get in their way – all over a couple of political cartoons! You’re watching the victory dance of a very childish gambler who just realized he’s holding the winning hand, and the table is covered with stacks of poker chips. They’re firmly convinced that they’re going to win it all; and I believe somewhere in the pleasure-glazed minds of most Americans, we’re beginning to catch on too.

Little by little, we’re starting to catch on to the fact that something just isn’t right; and the realization that there are about 1.2 billion of them scattered around the world; and the alarming picture is that they don’t require a centralized government to organize and direct their efforts. Even more alarming is that there are over 7 million in the United States, many of whom were recruited and trained during the racial turmoil of the 60’s. Despite public relations efforts to the contrary, it has also been revealed that even American Iman’s are beginning to loudly promote jihad. Could it just be that we already have the makings of an invading army camped in our cities, despising the very nation that provided them sanctuary and the freedom to pursue their faith?

The real alarming part of this is that no one expected it to happen. We all KNOW that it is the “Com-mies” that are our enemies; and whatever conflict that looms in the future will involve a nuclear war between the US and Russia, with maybe the Chinese throwing a few rocks as well. This is how even the Bible prophecy teachers have presented it, with the US making a vain attempt to defend Israel as Russia sweeps down into the Middle East, only to be destroyed by Jesus Himself. But is this really how Scripture presents it? Or have we grossly misinterpreted it based on what is proving to be transitional politics?

Just what happened to the “Red Menace”? It seems like our leaders spend more time consulting the Russians today than they do our traditional allies. Also, why does it seem like there really is no difference between the two ideologies anymore, as each has evolved into a slightly different flavor of socialized-capitalism? In one system, the rich people control the government; whereas in the other, the people who control the government are rich – what’s the difference? It used to be that the Communists were distinctly atheistic, whereas we, the “good guys”, were Christian. But I fear there are more atheists here now, than there are in the former Soviet Union.

The reason for this is simple, and was spelled out in prophetic scripture; but no one seems to have noticed it. God discusses the former political strivings of the world, and demonstrates His sovereign control over even these affairs of men: “These have one mind, and give their powers and strength unto the beast. …For God hath put it into their hearts to fulfill His will and to agree, and to give their kingdom unto the beast, until the Word of God shall be fulfilled.” (Rev. 17:13,17) God is going to change everything that has been familiar, so that man can have his diabolical kingdom of oppressions and self-indulgence as the culmination of our human attainment.

What does this mean, regarding our impending future, as Scripture presents it? We are most fortunate because once again, for the first time in 2,000 years, prophecy directly relates to what’s happening around us. Up until now, people have studied the prophetic writings and have interpreted them, based on ancient history and speculation. We have the luxury of reading them, and then comparing their advice and counsel to what is happening outside our very windows.

Where is America in biblical prophecy? Most commentators maintain that we aren’t even mentioned; but such a conclusion is the same as the geologist who looks out at the flood-deposited sedimentary rock, thousands of feet thick, proclaiming that nothing of the scope of Noah’s flood could ever have happened. Our influence in the unfolding events is central. We are not a bit player, confined to some obscure reference, we are the very seat of the world-dominating empire that is unfolding.

So open your Bibles to the 11th chapter of Daniel, and place your finger on verse 29. This is where we now are, despite its somewhat obscure phraseology: “At the time appointed he shall return and come to the south, but it shall not be as the former or as the latter.” There you go – simple enough, huh?

I rather suspect that I’ve produced a few blank stares and head scratches. Let’s begin with an overview. Chapter 11 is a description of almost 2,300 years of world history, beginning with the divided kingdom of Alexander’s Macedonia, and culminating with the beast described in Rev. 13, Daniel 2, 7, 8, & 9 and elsewhere. It is much too lengthy to present here; but it does cover some interesting highlights such as Cleopatra’s intrigues, and the varied struggles of the Crusades.

We know that the abomination of desolation has not occurred yet, which is actually to be the offshoot of this warfare that is presented. So wherever we are, it must be prior to verse 30-31. But what is it about this passage that points to the present? The entire chapter deals with the struggle that took place between Alexander’s four heirs: and largely focuses upon the warfare between the king of the north and the king of the south. Early on, the king of the north becomes defined as Rome and its spiritual subjects. This is important since the Fourth Kingdom portrayed in Nebuchadnezzar’s vision is of a divided, and yet sustained, Roman Empire.

The king of the south, meanwhile, varies between Egyptian Cleopatra and the Salucid Moslem empire during the Crusades. Since prophecy refers to genetics, not geography, the referenced people are the biological descendants of these people, even though they may not still inhabit the same land.

All this being understood, we see a unique struggle in which the king of the north wages three distinct battles against the king of the south – all in a very short period of time. Here is our key to where we fit into the whole picture. What nation, of European ancestry, has just waged two wars against the same Moslem nation during the past 15 years, which bear all the signs of there being even a third one, of far more catastrophic consequences, before things are finally resolved? Another important factor is that an unexpected turn of events, during this second campaign will directly promote the abomination of desolation, which marks the countdown to the return of Christ, and the end of the age. So it is pivotal.

All of this in mind, leads us to the inevitable conclusion that the United States, who most consider to be unmentioned in prophecy, is indeed the “king of the north”. How do we know that this is correct? Because as we consider our two wars with Iraq, which is the modern day successor of ancient Babylon, they haven’t fulfilled the total devastation of Babylon spoken of by Jeremiah.

As Jeremiah foresaw it, this struggle with Iraq / Babylon would culminate in utter destruction – not a democracy: “For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which will make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein… For lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country, and they shall set themselves in array against her. From thence she shall be taken. Their arrows shall be as of a mighty destroyer, none shall return in vain. – [laser-guided weapons?] (Jer. 50:3,9)

“Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the borders of the earth. They shall hold the bow and the lance; they are cruel and will not show mercy; their voices shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, everyone put in array like a man in battle against thee, O Daughter of Babylon.” (vs. 41-42)

Much of this account fits our present campaign; but some of it doesn’t. There is no longer an emphasis on “democratization”. Instead, they are eliminating a recurrent plague on their desires. We’ve lost our military momentum, in our efforts to be “peace-keepers”; so there is no way we could currently produce such wide-scale destruction.

On the other hand, there are many observers who foresee disaster ahead for our current efforts, perhaps resulting in a total withdrawal. Such being the case, there will, in all likelihood, be a third war fought between Iraq and the king of the north, before all prophecies are fulfilled.

It is essential, therefore, that we note that the king of the north represents the same ruling power as the head of NATO, the military arm of the United Nations. Even though there were two separate rulers involved in the first two wars, it was still the same national structure. Thus, it is not unrealistic to conclude that we, or the ruling power we have created, will also be the commanding authority in this third war as well.

Daniel presents a brief account of the outbreak and conduct of this third, and final, war against the king of the south: “And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him. And the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots and with horsemen and with ships; and he shall enter the countries, and shall overflow and possess. He shall also enter into the Glorious Land (Israel), and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape out of his hand: even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the sons of Amman. – [the present-day nation of Jordan, the land to which those who are in Judea at the time of the abomination of desolation shall flee – Ed]. …And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain [Jerusalem]. Yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” (Dan. 11:41, 45)

As we consider this final battle between the king of the north, who will be the same nation that fought the two previous wars with Iraq / Babylon, and its Moslem allies, we see a disturbing truth. This same national ruler, who finally puts down the Muslim strife, is also the one who overruns Israel and occupies Jerusalem as his throne, from which he rules over the whole earth for his brief season.

Ezekiel confirms this same account, despite the fact that biblical commentators have historically associated Russia as being the chief villain. But is it? Or will it be the same nation, as Daniel tells us, who has fought the first two wars with Babylon / Iraq? Let’s reexamine Ezekiel’s account, without filtering it through the interpretations presented by those who have also made a career out of advocating the pre-trib rapture.

God spoke to Ezekiel: “Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief of prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, and say, ‘Thus saith the Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. And I will turn thee back and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth and all thy army, horses, and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords; Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters and all his bands – and many people with thee.”’” (Ezek. 38:2-6)

The list of names of those accompanying Gog can be very confusing, because every Bible map shows all of them located in northern Mesopotamia, along the shores of the Black Sea. This is why all of the scholars have interpreted this invading horde as Russian. But maps can be misleading, since at the time that these maps supposedly represent, the rest of the earth was uninhabited. These few referenced tribes, shown all clustered together, are the forefathers of every nation on earth.

If we look back at the genealogy of Noah’s son Japheth instead, whose descendants settled Europe and Western Asia, and from thence, North and South America, we see that Ezekiel has listed what would now be considered Northern Europe, Western Asia, and North America. While the discussion is much too detailed to present here, Gog and Magog represent the English-speaking people of the world.

This is a particular eye-opener, since there is a large segment of the professing church that believes that England and the U.S. represent the “New Israel”. Suddenly, the importance of properly understanding prophecy hits home! If we base our life’s choices and loyalty on the assumption that America is now God’s chosen nation, and she is, in fact, Gog, whom God has declared that He is against, where will we find ourselves? Yet these concepts, along with the marriage of religion and patriotism, are all ingrained as mainstream Christianity.

But if we put aside our commentaries and foundations courses, and look at reality, who is it that God is compelling into an all-out war in the Middle East? – (which is not, by the way, the Battle of Armageddon). As we look at the flood of events that is forcing us ever closer to a global conflict, which John tells us will lead to the destruction of ¼ of the earth, (which constitutes 1.5 billion people), there is no better word picture to describe it then to call it a bridle and halter composed of a hook instead of a bit. There will be no resisting this compulsive pressure to fulfill God’s plan of judgment.

If such is our fate as a nation, who does that make us to be, the New Israel? Or the kingdom of the beast? Ezekiel answers this: “After many days, thou shalt be visited. In the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel – [this is the literal land of Israel, not Oklahoma or Nebraska – Ed.] — which have always been waste; but it is brought forth out of the nations and they shall dwell safely, all of them. Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm. – [Just as Daniel described in the end of his account. – Ed.] Thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou and all thy troops, and many people with thee. …Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, ‘Thus saith the Lord Yahweh: ” On that day when My people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? And thou shalt come from this place out of the north parts, thou and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great army and a mighty army. And thou shalt come up against My people of Israel as a cloud to cover the land. It shall be in the latter days; and I will bring them against My land, that the heathen may know Me when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.”’” (Ezek. 38:8-9, 14-16)

This may seem like a lot to digest; but the important thing is that Daniel, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel are all describing the same war, the last of three that were waged between the New World Order – (as George Bush Sr. described the political entity that he was leading in his first quest) — and the revived empire of Babylon, represented by modern Iraq and its Muslim allies.

If we examine all of the information, presented by these three men together, we see a very detailed and alarming picture of where we, as a nation, are headed. We are not Israel, or God’s chosen people, despite the legacy of good of our Christian forefathers – who always represented a minority. Instead, despite our needful efforts in stemming the renewed flood of Muslim conquest, we will ultimately turn into the very essence of evil, as the military power that sustains the beast in his persecution of the remnant of Israel and His remnant church.

This is going to pose a real challenge, as people begin to face the totally contradictory goals and purposes of their nation, as opposed to those of their God. How do we reckon sending our children off to war to fight for the oppression of our brethren, while they labor to remove every vestige of God’s Word from off the face of the earth? Yet that is the ultimate function that the armies of Gog and his European allies will fulfill, whether he calls himself the United States, the United Nations, NATO, New World Order, or whatever other moniker he chooses.

War is inevitable in these last days; and this upcoming war, God has proclaimed to be the one that cements the control of the beast system over the earth. As a nation, we will be forced to participate; but we must pray for God’s guidance as to what role we, as Christians, must play, and whether we are prepared to face the consequences for abstaining. It is no longer “My country, right or wrong!” — if this ever really was true. We are about to be forced to ally ourselves with a political entity, bent on destroying the Kingdom of God; and we are already, by birth, its citizens. Yet we are fast approaching the time of which the cartoon character, Pogo, spoke long ago, when he said, “We have met the enemy, and he is us!” How ironically true these words are becoming.

May God grant us wisdom, and deliver us from the snares of His enemies. Maranatha!
