Bible
Numerics:
The
Works of Ivan Panin
One
of the most remarkable occurrences in our time is God's preparation of one
individual to produce positive evidence that would completely undermine all
Biblical criticism and bring atheism toppling to the ground wherever honest,
thinking men will face the facts.
More
startling still is the fact that this individual was a converted Russian
Nihilist, a Harvard scholar, and a mathematician. At the very time when organized atheism was laying its plan
to get control of Russia and make use of its vast resources to sow the seeds of
atheism in every nation of the earth, God was preparing His Russian, Ivan Panin,
to bring forth scientific evidence of the verbal and plenary inspiration of the
holy Scriptures in the original languages.
Dr.
Panin, who passed away in October, 1942, after 50 years of work on Bible
numerics, was not the first to discover that there was a strange mathematical
structure running through the Bible. There
was Browne in his Ordo
Saeculoreum,
and Grant in his Numbers of the Bible and
Bullinger in his Numbers
of the Scriptures. These
all brought forth many striking examples of numeric features in the Bible.
It
remained for Dr. Panin, however, by giving his very life to the task, to find
that every letter of the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts is numbered and occupies
its own special place in the order of the total number of letters in the Bible,
the slightest variations of orthography being all God ordained.
Since every Greek and Hebrew letter carries a numerical value (letters
being used for figures in these languages), every word, phrase, sentence and
paragraph has a definite arithmetical sum.
Dr.
Panin devoted himself so persistently to counting letters and working out
mathematical problems, that he often wore himself out physically.
His works were voluminous and his discoveries seemingly without end. He
was the author of a volume, Structure of
the Bible and of a revision of the New Testament
based upon his numeric discoveries.
Panin's
establishing of the practically infinite series of complex systems, in the
Hebrew and Greek texts, all sequences, combinations, ratios, etc., following a
uniform design from Genesis to Revelation, is undoubtedly God's answer to modern
atheism and higher criticism and His vindication of the verbal and plenary
inspiration of Scripture.
The
discovery settles many questions of text. It
proves that the books of our present Bible, and they alone, have the required
features. It settles disputes of long standing as to some portions which
scholars have said should be eliminated from the Bible.
The
doctrine of the divine authority of the Scriptures has always been fully
sustained by the proofs from fulfilled prophecy, from the inexhaustible depths
of truth revealed, from its matchless power over the lives of men, from its
indestructibility and from the testimony of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
However, some have been won to wave these lines of evidence aside as
unscientific.
Dr.
Panin has submitted conclusive scientific
proof that the Bible could not have been produced by the unaided human mind.
This
proof is found in the amazing numeric phenomena in the very structure of the
Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. Dr.
Panin demonstrated, either that every writer of Scripture was an unparalleled
literary and mathematical genius, or that he wrote as he was moved by the Holy
Ghost. Prof. John C. Banks, a
worthy successor of Dr. Panin, has been offering numeric evidence to the same
proposition.
Panin
laid his discoveries before the readers of a New York paper, copies of which
were sent to leading skeptical educators and scientists with a challenge they
disprove, if

Short Descriptions of the books and pamphlets
Numeric English New Testament - translated by Ivan Panin - 630 pages.
This is the translation of the Greek New Testament as established by Bible Numerics. By using, wherever possible, the same English word to translate the same Greek word, this translation puts the reader as nearly as possible on the same footing as the reader of the Greek text. Both Greek and English Numeric New Testaments together represent the most significant application of Panin's discovery of Bible Numerics.
Numeric
Greek New Testament - edited by Ivan
Panin - 547 pages. This is the Greek New Testament as established by Bible
Numerics.
The Writings of Ivan Panin - 586 pages. Initially
an active Nihilist, Ivan Panin was exiled from Russia after participating in
plots against the Czar. He
was converted to Christianity from agnosticism and in 1890 he discovered the
mathematical design underlying the Greek New Testament. Subsequently he found
that the Hebrew text of the Old Testament had similar
structure. These writings cover various
topics such as the Parables, the Ages, God, Sorrow, Poverty and Riches, and many
more. Addresses on Emerson and
Tolstoy and other writings including "Inspiration of the Scriptures
Scientifically Demonstrated" are presented.
Shorter Works of Ivan Panin
- 83 pages. This booklet contains a short biography of Ivan Panin, works on
Genesis, Jehoiakim, Word Order, Romans, Genesis,
Verbal Inspiration demonstrated and others.
Bible Numerics -
by Ivan Panin - 30 pages. This paper is the text of a speech delivered by
Ivan Panin at Caxton Hall in Westminster England that
illustrates the mathematical and numeric interrelationship of all
Scripture.
The Last Twelve Verses of Mark - by Ivan Panin - 56 pages. This work establishes the validity of the
last 12 verses as Scripture by the multiple of sevens (7's) numerical
structure and interrelationship of the words, forms, occurrences, syllables
and letters as they relate to the whole Gospel of Mark.
A Holy Challenge for Today - by Ivan Panin - 69 pages.
This is an excellent
small booklet describing why Panin began to pursue Bible Numerics
and how he approached a revision of the
New Testament text. It also compares
the various manuscripts and the whole process Panin went through in creating his
revision. This booklet was completed shortly before his
death in1942.
Verbal Inspiration of the Bible Scientifically Demonstrated
- by Ivan Panin - 94 pages. This is a compilation of writings by A.B. King and
six other
clergy on Ivan Panin's scientific proof of the verbal inspiration of the
Scriptures with the bulk of the work being material by Ivan Panin
demonstrating numeric phenomena of the
Bible. This shows the Bible to be constructed "on a marvelous numeric
design running through its every conceivable
detail" The numeric design insures its text against errors and
interpolation.
The Inspiration of the Scriptures Scientifically Demonstrated
- by Ivan Panin - 15 pages. This is Ivan Panin's letter given in reply to
a challenge
of Christianity by a person known only a W.R.L., found in the newspaper The
New York Sun of Sunday November 19, 1899. Mr. Panin
"happened" to find the paper left on a vacant train seat. The
editorial section
had actually devoted several months to a discussion of the truths of
Christianity; Ivan Panin did not know this at the time, having not
seen the paper for years. This is a good
summary that was published to the readers of the Sun in 1899.
Inspiration of the Hebrew Scriptures Scientifically Demonstrated
- by Ivan Panin - 61 pages. This paper shows that the Hebrew Old Testament
is constructed of a numeric design
running through every conceivable detail.
The Gospel of the Kingdom
- by Ivan Panin - 32 pages. A paper addressing the question of
Dispensationalism.
Once in Grace Always in Grace? - Principles for the Interpretation of Scripture by Ivan Panin -
116 pages. This booklet addresses the question that the title presents by
reviewing pertinent texts, the issue of quoting Scripture and true Christian
assurance. This is a topic wrestled with by most Christians at one time or
another and the booklet expounds Panin's thought provoking conclusions.
Mathematics Prove Holy Scriptures - by Karl Sabiers - 158 pages. This work by Karl Sabiers is a biography
and exposition of the discoveries made by Ivan Panin including examples, how
they were discovered, how they prove the
Bible is a God breathed Book, and how the
discoveries affect the reader. It is a good synopsis of Panin's work.
Absolute Mathematical Proofs on Divine Inspiration of the Bible
- by Dr. Keith Brooks - 15 pages. This tract reviews the works of Ivan
Panin and is a
nice introductory summary for sharing with those interested in the subject of
the title or as a witnessing tract.
